Vintage NEW Stetson 1970s Stetson Open Road 4X Beaver Taupe 7+ With Box

  
Another one of dad's NEW vintage hats. Ok its from the 1970s but NOT a HATCO made hat. Most everyone know by now that all the great hat companies that WERE are No longer. EVERY hat made today from all the large companies (Resistol Stetson and many others) are made by HATCO. Its not a bad company but its certainly not making hats like the original companies made.

This is a real Stetson made by Stetson, 1970s Stetson 4X Beaver is great! No stains, No moth chews or bites, leather sweatband is pristine, every thread and stitch is secure and the leather is soft and pliable. NOTE My grandson found a single tiny tiny piece of the beaver in the last picture that looks like a pulled thread?

And you can see that in the very last picture. Its really not noticeable but we thought youd like to know. Leather sweatband is fully intact and in great condition and still soft and pliable. The leather sweatband is fully intact, every stitch in place.

The original box is in great condition with all the original inserts. That beautiful TAUPE color is the a bit lighter than the original Stetson taupe of the pre 1960s. Now that 4X beaver is excellent!

Its thick and very soft. We measure each hat 3 times to verify the size, whether tagged or not. This was tagged a size 7 plus a smidge by 1/16 of inch.

So it measures 22-1/16 of an inch. Not really significant but we wanted you to know.

Also these older Stetsons can easily be stretched one size larger, so this one to 7-1/8 but thats the maximum. This was found in dads hoard of hats. Please take a look at some of dads hats listed. Dating back to the 1890s, the very rare Stetson 1930s Nutria through many 1950s Stetsons, Resistol, Borsalino and many others.
