Vintage NEW in BOX 1950s Stetson 3X Cattleman Beaver Taupe 7-3/8 & Original Box

  
So very rare to find these late 1948-49 Stetson 7-3/8 (very hard to find such a large size from that period of time) in such excellent condition! Taupe and is tagged and measures to a perfect 7-3/8! It's a real looker! It was found in that GREAT "A Cowboys Life" Large hat box and was in an Open Crown shape. Dad steamed in that Cattleman's shape just so you could see what it would look like.

It could easily be steamed into nearly any shape. This is just a very smart and sharp looking cowboy cattleman shape and that super soft and thick 3X Beaver!

It's was so easily steamed. This is currently in the cowboy cattleman shape but it was just steamed into that shape to prepare it to be shaped as an Open Crown or Fedora. You will need to write to us to get it shaped. Dad has included that newer 1960s darker taupe colored trolley string that we added to this hat. It's currently just tied on with the end knotted but could be sewn in by a good tailor.

You can see that this is an early 1948-49 Stetson because there is very thin plastic overlay on the liner. That happened post 1948 after the "onion skin" liner covers. This is a TAUPE color. The picture of the whole underside best reflects the color of this great hat!

Not sure why we can't get the color to always come out consistently? Anybody out there has any suggestions? This also includes in this sale an old original rain hat protective cover. NOTE: Large Stetson Cowboys Life box is included in this sale and is still in very good condition to keep this hat stored in.

Dad is very determined to keep this hat box with this hat since they have been together for so many years! The original yellowed tissue paper was still there. The hat insert set is in good condition and the stack that holds it does have a tear in part of it but still functions perfectly. Also the box does have some minor paper wear and you can see the worst part was pictured. It's great graphics make up for any minor wear!

The underside has a scratch on it but this box is still very solid! These old vintage 3X Beaver is NOTHING alike todays or the 1960s 3X Beaver! This is extremely soft and pliable and can easily steamed into any shape or style you desire. This is a hat folks will notice!

The size tag does state 7-3/8. It's just a fraction over a perfect 7-3/8 and could easily be stretched to a 7-1/2 without any problem. There is a size tag that states "7-3/8" and actually measures to 7-3/8 at 23-1/8 inches, plus a fraction.

Size 7-3/8 or 23-1/8 inches or 59. Height 5-1/8 inches at the tallest point. Matching Grosgrain ribbon 3/8 of an inch.
