You can see the original Open crown pictures. Its has been shaped and it came out excellent! Dad still does excellent work, even though it takes him a few days to get it done. The hat will remain in this shape now and if you have any questions please write us. This shape is just the classic 1950-60s western cowboy movies and series shape, dad calls now the BOSEMAN. This is a hat out of my collection I got from dad about 40 years ago. This Stetson is the OLD 3X Beaver (NOT TODAYS 3X). This was blocked to an Open Crown so it is ready to be shaped into any style or left as is. It was a Cattleman originally but can be shaped into anything now. Wide brim at 3.6 inches. This hat is made of the OLD 3X Beaver so its NOTHING alike today or the 60s 3X. Its extremely soft and thick and so very easy to shape and work with! Dad and I hate this new explosion in ratings! This is from the early 1950s. We just cant say enough about this hat! The pictures speak much More about this beauty! We found nothing wrong with the hat: NO a moth bites. The liner has the patina, very mild yellow tint from aging. It also looks like a little dirt spots also on the beaver where the original crown shaping was. The leather sweatband is pristine! Every stitch is perfect and the leather remains soft and pliable. If you have any questions please write us.

We actually measure each hat 3 times to verify the size, tagged or not tagged. This chart is still in use today.

This is tagged size 7 but in todays (1970) chart says its a size 7-1/8 or 22-3/8 inches, which is an exact size 7-1/8. Size 7-1/8 or 22-3/8 inches or 57. Brim width 3.6 inches.
