Vintage Excellent Resistol 70s Brown Rattlesnake Band Hat 3X Beaver 7-1/2 & Box

  
This EXCELLENT Vintage 1970s- or early 1980s Resistol, Brown, 3X Beaver, BIG Rancher style cowboy hat, with a custom Rattlesnake Hatband. This is the vintage 3X Beaver! Nothing like today's 3X Beaver! The size is 7-1/2, we know it's states size 7-3/8 but it's larger, read below.

This has a nice tall 6.5 inch crown and a 4 inch brim. It's a big hat! This could easily be steamed and shaped into an Open Crown or Gus or Tom Mix hat. That vintage 3X Beaver is just very easy to work with!

The hatband pictures are at the end of the listings. You can see all the details! As you look at the end of the tail you can see where the snake band crosses over the body. It's the darker spot on the edge.

As best as he can remember the hat was bought and at that time they wanted the hatband replaced with a Rattlesnake hatband. There is an actual Rattlesnake farm back then where you could select and have a hatband made from it. This took weeks to do and by the time the Snakeskin hatband arrived the hat was already stored away. The hatband was just tacked onto the hat and was NEVER attached to the hat.

We just laid the hatband on the hat in that first picture so you see roughly how its will look. There was the original feather set hatband still inside the hat box. No one we know uses them anymore but it will remain with this hat.

The rattlesnake band is still in excellent condition! Head & tail are excellent! This band will be safely and securely packed to be certain NO damage will take place!

The Rattlesnake hatband can easily be mounted to the hat. By pinning it or if you wanted it permanent, it could be glued. You can see that this is an extremely well shaped true cowboy style rancher hat! The way the front and back have that slight dipping down. Just an extremely shape looking hat that folks will turn their heads for a second look! The beaver is very soft and thick and what we call semi-pliable material! It's not the hard and very very stiff material you find these days! Note: the original box is in very good condition! With its original hat holding insert set. That's why it costs a couple dollars more than most all of our listings.

If you have any questions please write us. The original hat size tag states 7-3/8, but this measures to a size 23-1/2 inches, which is a size 7-1/2.

The hat color is brown. So the picture of the whole underside is the best match (still a shade to light) to the actual color. Others come out to light. Size 7-1/2 or 23-1/2 inches or 60. Height 6.5 inches, at the highest point. Wide Brim width 4 inches. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL HAT! Everyone will turn heads for this hat! So it may arrive with a bit more wrinkling on the bottom of the box?
