Vintage Excellent 1960s Resistol 3X Beaver Custom Shaped Pioneer 7-1/4 & BOX

  

Here's an EXCELLENT 1960s Resistol, bound brim edge (like a Stetson open crown has) custom shaped cowboy hat, size 7-1/4, 3X Beaver. That shape has been called "Pioneer" but there is probably a better proper name for it? If you have any better names please write to us.

This is the OLD vintage 3X Beaver! Nothing like you find in todays or yesterdays hats!

That beautiful bound brim edge really makes this hat stand out! We did see a single loose thread but it doesn't affect the hat at all! It appears to be at the very end of the sewing. It's not broken but it's there.

The crown was shaped so many years ago back when those old cowboys movies and TV shows were being made this was a style of hat that you would see. It's certainly a one-of-a-kind! It's take quite a bit of work to get this shape and this one is outstanding! The picture of the whole underside of hat is the best match to the Chocolate brown.

Picture of the whole underside is the best representation of the actual color. It is easy to identify this as a 1960s Resistol by the red liner and the size/model under-tag.

Also we couldn't get a clear picture of the leather sweatband stating 3X Beaver but it's there. These older 3X Beaver hats are so very soft and pliable and so very easily steamed and shaped. This is NOT an anything like the newer, EXTREMELY stiff Resistol or Stetson or other manufacturers hat! Steam shaping this is easy to do if you'd ever wanted to change it?

It's just beautiful the way it sits now. Once dad and grandson cleaned this then just did a touch up steaming this into a real beauty! NOTE: the hat box (not the original box) is included in this sale. The box is VERY BIG but is still in great condition!

Very minor wear and still has the original hat holding insert! It's just to expensive! If you have any questions please write us. The was an under leather sweatband hat tag that states "7-1/4" and this measures to a perfect 7-1/4 at 22-3/4 inches. We actually measure each hat 3 times to verify the size, whether tagged or not.

Size 7-1/4 or 22-3/4 inches or 58. Width 14.5 inches, not flattened out, widest part.

Height 5.25 inches at the tallest point. Wide Brim width 3.8 inches. Grosgrain Ribbon is 3/4 of an inch. If you have any question please write.
