Vintage Excellent 1960s Resistol Beaver 35, OPEN ROAD (bound brim edge) Big Rancher Cowboy Hat, SilverBelly, size 7 Long Oval. This could be stretched to a 7-1/8. We found the size tag folded under the leather sweatband and we faced it back up.

That vintage BR "35" Beaver is EXTREMELY a soft and thick! Rarely find these anymore, anywhere! So the BR a does not stand for Beaver!

It are the first initials of those hat designers at Resistol during that time period when they designed some fantastic hats! The names Byer-Rolnick can be found on so many of Resistol vintage hats. You just don't find these great hats anymore is such excellent condition! No moth bites, pristine leather sweatband and that beautiful bound brim edge, just like the Stetson Open Road has.

These older vintage Resistol Beaver hats are NOTHING like newer post 1970-80s beaver hats and certainly far superior to any Resistol hats post 1990! These are so easily steam shaped and will last forever! We filled the picture gallery, showing every angle of this great hat! There is NOTHING to hide!

This is the original shape of this great classic cowboy hat. These older ones can easily be streamed and shaped into nearly any style you'd like!

Since this is from a time when the hats were a bit stiffer than most of dads 1950s cowboy beaver hats, we will call it semi-pliable. All in all it's a very nice hat! We took pictures of every angle of this great hat but if you have any questions please write to us. NOTE: dad wanted to use that 1950s Resistol hat box in the picture. It's NOT included In this sale. It's way to small for this hat. We actually measure each hat 3 times to verify the size, tagged or not tagged.

This hat has a size 7 Long Oval and measures to a perfect 7 at 22 inches. The long oval just means it's slightly more narrow and longer than a regular oval is. Just wearing it though will eventually shape this great hat to any head shape. We use the Tilley hat sizing chart which is still in use today by all the big manufacturers.

This could be stretched to a 7-1/8 with any standard stretcher, slow and patient is the key to stretching any hat! Size 7 or 22 inches or 56. Inches at the widest part in the back 1/4 of the hat, not flattened out. Height 5-1/4 at the tallest point. Brim width 3.6 inches.
