Stetson 4X 1980s Beaver-Rabbit mix fur, Black Tom Mix Gus cowboy hat 7-3/8. This has been sitting on dads shelf for about 40 years. Its the biggest hat that Stetson has ever made. The same hat been made since the early 1930s and used in many of the old west movies. As you can see dad had a 1/2 Kettle Roll formed around the edge, This gives it that final touch of those 1930s-40s John Wayne classic cowboy short movies.

This hat was still made by Stetson NOT Hatco! Its the last time they made this widest brim! The brim would measure 5 inches if it didnt have the Kettle Roll. Currently measures 4.7 inches then rolls up. We think that everyone knows by now that Stetson is NOT a Stetson anymore. But HATCO makes hats for all the big companies including Resistol and any other medium to large hat companies. It very sad that the AMERICAN LEGEND no longer exists but there are still a few, not many custom hat makers that can make you a great hat!

So theres POWDER RIVER in Colorado, OPTIMO in Chicago and others but Stetson in gone! The original 70s-80s Stetson hat paperwork was still under the leather sweatband when we took it out and will be included in this sale.

We actually measure each hat 3 times to verify the size, whether tagged or not. This was tagged 7-3/8 which is 24-1/8 inches, perfect size 7-3/8 or 59. Size 7-3/8 or 59 or 23-1/8 inches. Length 18 inches, not flattened out. Width 16.4 inches, as is not flattened out.

Brim 4 inches (front) and 6-1/2 inches (back). Black Matching grosgrain 2 inches. So thats why it is a little more expensive.
