Another one of dad's great very Late 1960s through the 1970s. This hat is a Resistol Black, labeled PANHANDLE but its the hat that youll see Clint Eastwood wearing in so many movies! Its appears to be in excellent condition. There is a tag that states size 7 but its been stretched to a 7-1/8, read below for details.

And The hat measures to an exact size 7-1/8 At 22-3/8 inches. We just cant say enough about this special hat! The new owner will be unique because its a one-of-a-kind! When we were outside taking the pictures we could still see a bit of dust on it. Dad said it was fine but we wanted you to know.

This was found in dads hoard of hats. Please take a look at some of dads hats listed. Dating back to the 1890s, the very rare Stetson 1930s Nutria through many 1950s Stetsons, Resistol, Borsalino and many others. These older Resistol 3X Beaver hats are great!

They are very soft and thick and the beaver is very easily shaped into all types of styles. With that crown though we think the brim is going to be the easiest thing to shape, if you ever wanted to. Everyone should know by now that these old companies no longer exist making hats anymore. Stetson, Resistol and mast every company was bought out by HATCO and HATCO now makes all the hats using these great old companies Logos. It was a very sad day when this happened!

Like everything thats been changed the quality of hat thats made just isnt what it used to be. There are only a few great hat makers left here in the states. They are all private hat makers like Rocky Mountain hat Company, Greenly, OPTIMO, Powder River and others. They still make hats the old fashion way and continue to use the best quality materials. We actually measure each hat 3 times to verify the size, whether tagged or not.

This is tagged a 7 Long Oval. Its measures to a standard 7-1/8 inches.

Dad did a stretch to the hat and it was pretty easy since it was a Long Oval. It measures to a 7-1/8 at 22-3/8 inches. In the 1970s manufacturers developed and agreed upon a (Tilley) hat size standardization chart, which is still used today.

Size 7-1/8 or 56 or 22-3/8 inches. 5 inches (center of the crown). Crown band 1/2 inch with metal buckle.
